Biography
Prof. Rupayan Bhattacharya has completed his PhD from Saha Insitute of Nuclear Physics. He has taught physics at different levels in different countries. He has retired as Principal from a reputed undergraduate college in Kolkata. Now he is an Emeritus Professor of Physics in the University of Calcutta. He has published more than 75 papers in reputed journals and International conference proceedings.
Research Interest
At present he is working on depletion of spin-orbit splitting of shell model states of dripline nuclei. At the same time I am interested in the effect of tensor interaction on formation of bubble nuclei. Exclusive optimization of tensor parameters have been chalked out. Furthermore, I have done some calculations on the effect of occupation probabilities of shell model states on bubble formation. The importance of the “waiting point†nucleus Zn80 on r-process is being explored in another project.
