Vladimir Zaichick has completed his PhD at the age of 29 years from Institute of Biophysics, Moscow, and his DSc degree and Professor rank from Medical Radiological Research Center, Obninsk, Russia. He is a member of the Scientific Council on Analytical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences. a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist (since 1996), a member of the American Society of Nuclear Medicine and some other Scientific Societies He has 19 patents and published more than 200 papers in reputed journals. He has retired as Principal from a reputed undergraduate college in Kolkata. Now he is an Emeritus Professor of Physics in the University of Calcutta. He has published more than 75 papers in reputed journals and International conference proceedings.

At present he is working on depletion of spin-orbit splitting of shell model states of dripline nuclei. At the same time he is interested in the effect of tensor interaction on formation of bubble nuclei. Exclusive optimization of tensor parameters have been chalked out. Furthermore, I have done some calculations on the effect of occupation probabilities of shell model states on bubble formation. The importance of the “waiting point” nucleus Zn80 on r-process is being explored in another project.
